The Starry Outpost, 2012

The Starry Outpost is a collection of paintings and drawings which expand the narratives of two previous bodies of work, The Volcano Sitters and The Balloonists. Depicting locations, characters, maps, and plots, the series presents the foundation for an imaginary novel in painted form. Employing the nature of memory as a starting point, the works consult an open-ended timeline of historical reference material, including 19th century landscape painting, astronomy, and the Floating World
